Fuel  for Winter  Heating for Families in Amman
When the N American team left Amman at the end of January, the price to refill the 5 gallon propane tanks
that fuel the small heaters most people in the Jordanian capitol rely on to heat their homes was about $5.  
Two weeks ago the price soared overnight to almost $10 as Amman weathered it's second heavy snow of
the winter,     

This amount is a huge expense for most Iraqi families who cannot work legally and who are living on rapidly
dwindling savings that they brought with them when they fled Iraq.  

...in Jordan, the cost of maintaining fuel subsidies amid the surge in prices forced the government to
remove almost all the subsidies this month, sending the price of some fuels up 76 percent overnight...
