Summer of Hope focused on highlighting the hopes and dreams of the children CRP serves. A carefree and cheerful summer is far from reality for urban refugees in Amman. The wars in Syria and Iraq have forced these families to flee to Amman without even the basics to set up homes – they are left with nearly nothing to support themselves.
The proceeds from this campaign went towards helping these children and their families through basic needs assistance, like providing food and household items.
We also focused on education – another basic need. Many refugee families cannot afford to pay the cost of book fees, uniforms and school supplies to send their children to school at all. As a result, many families choose not to send their children to school or elect to send only as many children as they can afford. This campaign provided uniforms, school supplies, and books to get 30 children in the CRP community back into school.
