Um and Abu Salem
“Everything is expensive here. The food vouchers are the main thing that helps us get by in Jordan,” says Um Salem. Their family of 6 receives monthly food vouchers from CRP and school supplies for their son Salem. Their only other school-aged child, a daughter, does not attend school. Ever since the family moved to Jordan, she has been reluctant to attend.
Adjusting to the many changes is always difficult for refugee families but, all the same, Abu Salem insists, “We are trying to endure and adapt.”
