Our Newest Yoga Teachers

Community members who have benefited from CRP’s weekly yoga classes are eager to learn how to lead yoga themselves. Bella and Claire, visiting yoga instructors from Ireland, have returned to train yoga instructors. The first trainee class includes five men and four women ranging from age sixteen to sixty eager to help others benefit from yoga.

Right now, our trainees are learning to teach the men’s and women’s classes, and how yoga can help back pain and arthritis. It will be some time before the trainees can start to teach independently, but for practice, they are leading the introductory poses and breathing exercises in the open classes. Enthusiastic new leaders like Hind help make yoga a sustainable part of our programming. Teaching yoga gives our beneficiaries an opportunity to contribute to the community, rebuild social ties and stay active!
