Schueler-helfen-leben (SHL), translated as “Students Help Life,” is a youth initiative based in Germany, and was established during the Yugoslav wars of the early 1990s to ameliorate the situations of children in refugee camps. SHL still works in Eastern Europe, but has expanded its reach by supporting projects for Syrian refugees in Jordan and Syria. SHL has partnered with CRP to support our youth programming, which includes After-School Club, Teen Group, and Back-to-School Assistance.
